A day in the life:
- Act as the primary business manager for our client on construction projects
- Primary responsibility for the redemption of equipment, material, and subcontractor estimates
- Responsible for submittal, operations and maintenance, and closeout process
- Negotiate pricing of all change orders
- Develop the initial schedule for our client's work on the project
- Responsible for submission of RFIs and review of responses to determine scope impact
- Provide project information to the Construction Manager for the job Superintendent, Fabrication Division, and Start-up Supervisor
- Plan and coordinate with the Construction Manager on project requirements as they relate to scheduling, sequence, production, and quality
You should have:
- Hands-on project management experience of commercial construction projects in excess of $3M (single project) or 3 to 6 simultaneous electrical portions of equal value
- Demonstrated responsibility for projects lasting a year or more
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably electrical), Building Construction, or Construction Engineering Management, or equivalent years of experience
- Strong analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated skills, experience, and proficiency with technology, including knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel and project management software
- Acumen for business, including knowledge and interest in business and management principles involved in strategic planning, accounting, cost forecasting, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources
- Ability to deal diplomatically with internal and external customers at various levels within an organization—i.e., owners, GCs, subcontractors, engineers, superintendents, draftsmen, etc.
